My how time flies -- it's the end of March and I want to update everyone on what we've been working on.
We finished our podcasts in the middle of the month. I've done mine on a topic dear to many Athens/Athens area citizens' hearts: social activism. You can subscribe or download an MP3 version on the page:
The Alternate Transportation podcast is the real one, and the local agriculture is a dummy episode. I created that as part of the assignment to show our professor I can do a series. I'm more than proud of this because it is the first podcast I've created and submitted. I hope you enjoy it.
We are currently working on video podcasts, which is also new to me. Up until joining New Media, I've been a print journalism kind of girl, so Rich Media is a very exciting challenge and adventure for me.
I've decided to stick with the Activist Athens theme I used for the enhanced podcast. My topic is Earrings for Education, a fundraiser run by Susan Cooper of Sidestreet Beads in Watkinsville. She's raising money to pay for a Maasai girl's education in Kenya. We will hopefully be done with this project in the next couple of weeks, so come back for updates!
The last thing we've been working on is iPhone web applications. Each person in the class has completed a basic application, and by the end of the semester we should have a final application to share.
